I help individuals transform challenges into growth by focusing on resilience and strengths. With a Master’s in Social Work from CSULB, I have extensive experience supporting youth, adults, and those navigating trauma, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions. I create a safe, compassionate space to explore your goals and work collaboratively toward healing and confidence. Together, we’ll embrace your resilience and equip you with tools to thrive.
I believe in helping others reach their potential and the best versions of themselves. I believe therapy is a partnership to encourage healing and growth and I aim to see clients for their individuality and personal experiences. I have a PhD in family studies and intervention strategies in addition to completing my Registered Play Therapist certificate. I specialize in creative techniques to work with autism, anxiety, anger/impulse management, depression, and trauma.
My experience in the therapy field has taken me on many paths! I have worked as a social worker linking people to services and resources and as a clinical coordination of care for populations managing mental health concerns as well as cognitive disabilities. I have been a community behavioral health clinician providing individual and group therapy as well as working on an integrated care team with physical health providers. In my therapy practice, I work with anyone seeking EMDR for either single incident or multiple/complex trauma events. I also love working with perinatal populations and therapists seeking therapy for themselves! I see individuals 18 years or older in my practice. I take a trauma-informed approach in all that I do and want to make this experience work for you!
My therapeutic approach is person-centered, solution-focused, and holistic. I believe that each client and family is unique, and I work collaboratively to determine which methods are most beneficial for their specific goals and circumstances. Together, we create a plan that promotes growth, healing, and meaningful change.
In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I often incorporate creative and mindful practices such as art therapy, mindfulness, breathwork, and music to deepen the healing process and engage clients in a more integrative way. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where individuals and families can find balance, resilience, and fulfillment.
What is your approach to therapy?I am a licensed therapist with a master’s degree in Social Work from St. Louis University, where I specialized in children and family counseling. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with children and families across foster care, school settings, and private practice. My experience includes supporting children and youth facing challenges such as ADD/ADHD, mood disorders, behavioral outbursts, anxiety, depression, and academic difficulties.
In my work with individuals, I focus on fostering effective communication, nurturing positive interactions, and building stronger emotional connections. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and address the core sources of struggles such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and issues with self-worth.
What can clients expect from their first session with you?During our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free space where they can begin to share their story at their own pace. I view this initial meeting as an opportunity for us to get to know one another and start building a trusting therapeutic relationship.
We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to achieve. I’ll also ask some background questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we’ll begin to identify what approaches may be most helpful and create a plan that feels comfortable and tailored to your needs.
Clients often leave the first session with a sense of clarity, understanding, and direction. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and hopeful about the positive changes we can work toward together.
Welcome to my therapy practice!
My work is focused on helping people develop healthy, productive, and satisfying lives and relationships. I see individuals who are dealing with a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, addiction, as well as relationship troubles, creative blocks and challenging life transitions. I have a special affinity for those who identify as "highly sensitive" and who feel extra challenged navigating the harshness of the world.
As a licensed counselor, I believe that prioritizing mental health is foundational to each of our wellbeing. I appreciate you taking the first step in improving your relationship with yourself and others. The focus of my practice is helping those that feel anxious, disconnected or negatively effected by the experiences they have had in life.
