Hi my name is Matt! I work with young adults, teens, kids, and their families. I value collaboration in therapy because you are the expert of your life. I have a lot of experience working with Neurodiverse people and look forward to working its you.
I am a therapist and a practicing school counselor with 15 years of school-based experience and nearly three years of individual therapy experience. I have masters degrees in history and counseling, and have a range of experiences serving adolescents from middle school to high school students, young adults, adults, seniors, and couples. I specialize in helping my clients to face issues with anxiety, depression, motivation, stress management, grief, relationship issues, and communication improvement.
I’m a Doctor of Behavioral Health, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Clinical Hypnotherapist with advanced training in integrative, mind-body approaches to healing. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, panic attacks and OCD. I also work with people who are experiencing depression, trauma, chronic stress, and difficulty navigating life transitions.
My clients are often looking for more than symptom relief — they want to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, reconnect with their inner strength, and create meaningful, lasting change. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide spectrum of people: from Veterans to homeless and individuals facing severe mental health challenges, to highly successful clients navigating the unique pressures of wealth, relationships, and career demands.
No matter their background or circumstances, what unites my clients is a shared desire for healing, clarity, and growth — and a commitment to creating a more fulfilling life. I meet each person with the same compassion, warmth, and nonjudgmental presence, honoring their unique story while walking alongside them on their path toward wholeness.
Regardless of your history, you are important to me. At our core, I believe we all long to be heard, validated, accepted, and healed — and it is an honor when your journey crosses with mine. For those who wish, I also welcome the integration of spirituality into our work, creating space for deeper meaning, connection, and transformation as part of the healing process.
I have been a therapist for 25 years and am currently licensed in both Colorado and Wyoming. My primary emphasis has been in the realm of grief and loss issues (death of a loved one, unresolved grief, job loss, loss of health, loss of meaning, etc.), women's issues, lifespan issues, depression, reactivity, complex PTSD, and relationship counseling. I have an unusual approach to these issues, including a belief in a certain degree of warmth as being healing in the therapeutic relationship.
During my pre/postnatal care experience, I noticed many gaps in our healthcare system & government. There is an overall lack of support for mothers in the United States.
These gaps & suffering from postpartum mental health issues, I grew a passion for women experiencing similar issues. As an attachment based therapist I noticed other mental health professionals do not know how to support new mothers without suggesting strategies that can damage secure attachments in the parent/child relationship.
