Hello! I am a licensed psychologist who is committed to helping my clients feel better through overcoming mental blocks and emotional pain. I have more than 13 years of clinical experience, including 6 years of working as a psychologist at Duke University.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Originally from Chicago, I earned my MA from University of Chicago in 1998, and since then I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings including domestic violence shelters, a foster care/adoption agency, and a parenting organization as well as managing a private practice where I currently reside in North Carolina. I work with clients affected by anxiety, depression, life changes, trauma, parenting and relationship challenges.
I'm an outgoing, empathetic therapist who specializes in treating: stress, anxiety/depression, trauma, chronic pain, addictions, substance use, & relationship issues. I also specialize in Addiction treatment & Trauma treatment. I have a background in Social Work, and am a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am able to offer counseling from a Christian, non-judgmental perspective if a client so desires.
I help people who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, self-doubt, trauma, or major life changes find steadiness again. My clients are often caring, capable people who feel stuck in survival mode—wanting peace but unsure how to get there. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what’s been weighing on you, and rebuild a sense of ease and confidence. We will also look back at how early life experiences shaped the way you see yourself and others, so we can shift old beliefs and habits that no longer serve you. My style is warm, honest, and collaborative—you’ll never have to face your struggles alone.
I guide people to make sense of what’s going on inside—the racing thoughts, the heaviness, the tension that lives in the body, and the patterns that keep repeating—and turn that insight into real change. We’ll build tools to calm your mind, regulate emotions, and set boundaries that actually stick.
